The client wanted to try something different for their display advertising in regard to their 100 year anniversary. The idea was to promote their Car Service option. As much as we love a creative and highly visual ad, we can’t deny that interactivity and user-generated element concepts are one of the key components of HTML5 banners. In the examples provided here we relied on keeping things simple and useful for the user.
We opted for a drop down menu which allows the user to choose in which city they want to find a Bosch Car Service. After making their selection and initiating a click – users were directly sent to the website’s map service locator for that particular city. So, while still on banner level, users knew what the provided service was, and they could directly choose their preferred city and see the most convenient service location!
As with any other interactive banner, a variety of user interactions were tracked which gave us insight on how well users are able to perceive ads as available for interactivity, and how much attention was paid to certain elements such as the sound on/off trigger for the video.
